Since we have switched our eating habits to follow the Primal Blueprint our regular standby menus no longer work. They were filled with a lot of pasta dishes or casseroles with grains. At first it was daunting trying to think of meals that don’t have grains or legumes in them but now I am having fun finding new recipes to try. All of these recipes are grain and gluten free.
This weeks meals:
- Pizza with a grain free cream cheese crust
- Sausage gravy and biscuits.
- Baked chicken hindquarters with cauliflower mashed potatoes and sauteed zucchini.
- Slow roasted pork shoulder with sauteed spinach and onions.
- Bratwurst with whatever veg looks good.
- Beef and vegetable baked spaghetti squash
I didn’t do a post for last weeks menu but I did take some photos of what we were eating. Sadly, I did not get a photo of my first ever pot roast, and it turned out so yummy! Last week we had:

I *wish* I could do menu plans. I mean…I try…sort of, but I find it hard to plan so many days ahead. Plus, the boys are so darn picky! Argh! I’ve turned into a short-order chef despite myself. Must work on that.
Have you made spaghetti squash before? That’s one kind I haven’t had, but it looks so interesting. Good luck w/your menu!
We only do grocery shopping once a week so I have to try and have a general idea of what meals to make. I don’t try to schedule them all to specific days though. Today I thought I’d be making the spaghetti squash but the meat hadn’t finished thawing so we’re eating pizza. We’ve had spaghetti squash a couple of times and enjoyed it, this recipe is new though.
Seriously not impressed with that spaghetti squash recipe, unfortunately there are lots of leftover so I’ll be unimpressed at lunch tomorrow and the next day too.
