Lost Lettuce

One of the lettuce plants was lost yesterday. The stem broke off at the soil. It was very thin at that point. I think it just broke under it’s own weight, maybe with a bit of encouragement from the wind. When Kate found it it had been lying out in the sun and was quite limp. I guess I’ll be replanting more.
