Today is 39 weeks! Hard to believe that Alexander could be born at any time. His delivery date is just around the corner. We’ve been busy getting everything ready and it seems that we are good for launch. I’ll be off work this month to help out and spend time with Kate and Alexander. We’re both really looking forward to this and are very grateful for all of the support and love from everyone. Thank you! 🙂
Things are going to be pretty crazy this week but I’ll try to get on and post some pictures and updates.
2009 is finally here! 2008 was a big year for us when we discovered that we were going to have a son. Since June 27th that has occupied a lot of our attention. Now Kate is more than 38 weeks along. Our scheduled delivery date is only a week away now! We’re ready. Especially Kate. Any day now is good for her. Soon we’ll post the news and pictures!
37 weeks along! Alexander’s birth is coming up soon. Suddenly the waiting is almost over. Weird how that works. Just over two weeks now until he is scheduled to be delivered. Hopefully he’ll wait that long. Or at least until the snow melts.
We’ve got everything pretty much ready here at home. The last few baby things should be arriving thanks to generous folks at work who gave us not one, but two baby showers! Thanks!
Yesterday another snow storm moved in. The last has shut things down early for most of the week and this new storm did the same. It started snow heavily around 12:00 PM yesterday and continued into the late evening. But it also started getting warmer and late last night the snow changed to freezing rain.
When I went out this morning with the dogs they had troubles with the snow. McCoy has had fun in the snow but there’s a thick ice crust now on the snow that made walking difficult. Poppy managed following in our tracks but ran into trouble at the field. It was just too deep and too hard to walk on as her paws kept breaking through the ice crust. I ended up carrying her under the big tree (in the picture). McCoy struggled too but nothing much stops him or bothers him. Poppy got carried home too. 🙂
I doubt much is going to be happening today. It should get warmer, maybe the ice will melt but then it’s likely to refreeze and we’re supposed to get more snow on top of it tonight. We may not make it to our appointment tomorrow!!
Alexander is taking after me – he’s breech with his feet down. After considering the various options we have a c-section scheduled for just after 39 weeks. It’s less that a week before his due date so hopefully he’ll wait that long!
I thought I’d try out a new feature today: video! Okay, everyone has been doing video for a long time but it’s new to us. With Alexander on the way we wanted to be able to capture video and so we picked up a new camera. It seems to work well. The original video is HD and much larger but I exported this to upload online. And there’s a lot I need to learn about the camera and working with the video. But here you go:
The quality of the reduced video isn’t great but it’s fun to see what we can do. I’ll have to work on it some more.
